Sankar Das Gupta Sankar Das Gupta, Ph.D, DIC
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder

Sankar is a serial entrepreneur and an award-winning scientist with over 50 US patents who is passionate on the urgency to reduce the effects of Climate Change. He has been a member of many committees including the White House Committee on Energy & Environment, chaired by then Vice-President Al Gore. He is a founder charter member of TIE-Toronto and has lectured at many conferences & universities including in Asia, Europe and North America. Sankar received his doctorate from Imperial College, London and is a graduate of Presidency College, Calcutta. He serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Toronto

Richard Halka Richard Halka

Richard specializes in leading high-tech companies during periods of rapid growth and he blends significant North American and European operating and financial experience. Previously, he was EVP & CFO of Iridium Satellite, then the world’s largest commercial satellite network operator, where he led its private-equity backed turnaround. Similarly he was EVP & CFO of Stratos Global Corporation, a TSX-listed company where he oversaw the integration of 4 acquisitions, directed and led its rapid growth as it became the fastest growing company for its period in Canada and 4th fastest in North America. In addition, Richard has held leadership positions on NASDAQ listed companies, several European based companies and was also formerly a Management Consulting Partner with KPMG. Richard has personally led public offerings, restructuring of debt and acquisitions/divestures in Canada, the US and European markets for a combined value in excess of $2 billion. He holds a Canadian CPA and CA.

Gitanjali Das Gupta Gitanjali Das Gupta
Vice President of Operations

Gitanjali is passionate about the ability of innovation in science and technology to be an engine for dramatic economic growth. She previously grew the Clean Transportation Division at Electrovaya, which under her leadership included partnerships with Chrysler, Tata Motors and others. She was formerly the Vice-Chair of Electric Mobility Canada, a co-founder of the Plug-in Hybrid Development Consortium, Chair of a Technical Committee advising the Government of Canada on electrification as well as a committee member to the SAE, IEEE, EDTA, and U.S. EPA. Today, she is head of operations at Electrovaya where she is setting the organization for scale. Gitanjali holds a M.S. in Management from Stanford University, an M.Phil. in Economics for Oxford University and a Hons. B.Sc. from the University of Toronto.

Raj Das Gupta Raj Das Gupta, Ph.D
Vice President of Business Development

Raj has worked with Electrovaya previously as Director of Research and later as Vice President of Energy Storage. He has led the development of Electrovaya's stationary energy storage systems and has built up relationships with customers and partners globally. Raj is responsible for managing and increasing Electrovaya's sales for both its stationary and automotive energy storage systems, as well as developing Electrovaya's strategy for technology licensing and business partnerships. He had earlier been instrumental in developing the Scribbler product in collaboration with Microsoft. Raj attended Imperial College, London; Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and the University of Cambridge, where he received his Doctorate in Materials Science. He has been an invited speaker at many international conferences.

Alex Oleksandr (Alex) Skrypko, P.Eng
Vice President of Engineering

Alex has over 20 years of experience in managing multi disciplinary engineering teams. As a trained Professional Engineer with Masters in Electrical Engineering, he successfully lead teams through design and NPI processes in wide range of industries and applications: high volume consumer electronics (Logitech), industrial/special application systems (high speed digital presses at Delphax), high reliability aircraft control and landing systems, meteorological systems, oil pipe telemetry at NVK KIA.

Michael Shelton Michael Shelton
Director, Strategic Supply Chain Management

Mike is a supply chain executive with a track record of accomplished success that have included generating annual cost reductions, improvement of inventory turns, increase of inventory accuracy. He has exceptional experience with developing global supply chains across many supplier subcategories during new product development and introduction. He is recognized for creating and leading high-functioning teams and has industry experience in Energy, CPG, Telecomm, & Automotive including leadership positions at Siemens Energy Group, Satcon, RIM and Omron. Mike started his career at Westinghouse.

CTO: Litarion

Dr. Joerg Reim was awarded his Ph.D. degree in Inorganic Chemistry by the University of Muenster/Germany in 1997. After a post-doctoral stay at the Pennsylvania State University, he started his industrial career in 1998 at Cerdec Ceramic Colours in Frankfurt/Germany. In 2006, he joined the Lithium-Ion Technology group of Degussa AG (now Evonik Industries AG) in Marl working in different positions in Technical Marketing, Application Technology and R&D. From 2010, he was heading the Product Development at Litarion GmbH in Kamenz being responsible for the development and application technology of electrodes and separators. Since July 2016, he is Chief Technical Officer at Litarion GmbH.

Fritz Muller Fritz Mueller
Director of Sales & Marketing: Litarion

Before joining Litarion GmbH, Fritz Mueller worked for more than 20 years in sales, service and marketing of production equipment in semiconductor area, laser material processing, PV and Li-Ion batteries. He has set up organization for worldwide supply of equipment to TIER-1 suppliers to automotive industry like Bosch, Siemens or EPCOS. Since more than 15 years he was responsible for sales of production equipment in battery field in Europe. He graduated in 1983 from TU Berlin as master in precision instruments engineering.
